2024 marks the fifth edition of Satyrs and Maenads: the Athens porn
film festival, a celebration of art and sexuality at Romantso.
Attracting filmmakers and artists from around the world,
Satyrs & Maenads presents over 150 films depicting sex – from
the metaphorical to the hardcore – with aesthetics,
narratives and performers that you
can't see in mainstream porn.
To celebrate the five-year anniversary, the festival has created
a five-day program –
full of films and a series of new events, such as Porn Across the
Aegean, a sisterly loving screening of new Greek and Turkish
artistic pornography at the Alexander Sauna.
The Perverted Puppies Party hosted by queer party icons Strap-On
Unicorns
and the
Philosophy in the Boudoir fetish party, combining a screening of
BDSM films with an all-night party headlined by PJ Mugiwara.
The day's activities include the Erogenous Circles Workshop,
Pornolaiki (creators' bazaar), interactive discussions on the
history of porn, an art exhibition curated by art collective
Lalava and the Porn Academy workshop – a hands-on training in
artporn creation for young budding pornographers from German
studio Fucking Conflicts.
And a hot HOT JAMS concert by the erotic Spyros Paraskevakos
who will be artistically "phased" with the six invited singers
on stage.
